Suzanne's show is regularly charted between number 4-10 in the global #synthwave Chart.

Milton Keynes based startup Spectrum On Air has been named a finalist ahead of the South East Regional final of the StartUp Awards.

The UK StartUp Awards was launched to recognise the booming start-up scene across the UK which has accelerated over the last few years with over 900,000 new businesses founded in the UK in 2023, a 12% increase from the year before.

Over 900 businesses have been shortlisted for this year’s UK StartUp Awards and the contribution of these firms - all of which were started in the last three years - is significant, having created nearly 6,000 new jobs since they were established and generating annual sales of £480 million.

Spectrum On Air is an Internet Radio Station  founded by Suzanne Letting, Mick Bannister, Anthony Ingledow  in 2021. The business has been nominated for the Media & Entertainment StartUp of the Year  Award in the South East Region.

Suzanne Letting, founder of Spectrum On Air, said: “This is amazing news, it goes without saying that all of us involved with the Radio Station are passionate about supporting emerging Artists across the UK and Globally.  We’ve worked tirelessly to bring a fresh approach to Broadcasting and encouraged participation from all music genres in partnering with likeminded platforms, we are indeed bringing colour to the airwaves.

Supported nationally by ScoreApp, GS1 UK, Starling Bank, OVHcloud, GiftRound, Airwallex, the programme will celebrate the achievements of the amazing individuals who have turned an idea into an opportunity and taken the risk to launch a new product or service.

The cohort of finalists will be considered for the regional prizes by a panel of seasoned judges with experience founding or supporting entrepreneurial ventures. The winners from each region will then be invited to the first UK final taking place at Ideas Fest, the Glastonbury for Business festival in Tring, Hertfordshire on 12th September 2024.

 Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, the creator of the UK StartUp Awards, said:

We are looking for an Accounts Administrator.

Our client is a family owned business who has seen significant growth over the past few years. They are an ISO 9000 certified business.

Our client has a team of 30 staff of which 9 are field based. With business growth set to continue, they are looking for additional support within their finance / admin team.

This role will include training on the companies system and softwear, so would suit someone with experience as an Office Junior who would like to grow within the role.

You will need good attention to detail and good attendance with a keen interest in the role and the company.

Sales and Purchase ledger experience would be an advantage to this role.

DUTIES:

  • Working in an accounts department to ensure works are completed in a timely manner to assist the Financial Controller.
  • Working mostly on Protean Software, the company wide computer system, necessary training will be provided
  • Primarily processing sales invoices, job sheets and other documentation within Protean Software.
  • Processing supplier purchase invoices, delivery notes etc
  • Raising and answering accounts queries.
  • General accounts and admin duties
  • Carrying out driving license checks for company insurance purposes.
  • Providing holiday cover within the department.
  • Storing and updating company paperwork on company systems
  • Assisting with any other relevant activities as required.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an accounts role in small or medium sized business
  • Experience with Sage 50 preferred but not essential
  • Strong IT skills with excellent Excel and Word.
  • Experience raising and processing sales invoices.
  • Experience processing purchase invoices

Job Details:

  • Full time 9.00am – 5.00pm, Monday - Friday
  • Working in a busy environment with robust colleagues.
  • Salary £24,000 – £25,000.
  • Temp to permanent role after 3 months depending on performance.
  • Ideal start date – asap

We are beyond excited!  We will be announcing our Ampthill Rocks Line up for the Festival held on the 5th July to the 7th July 2019 in the next few days so watch this space for further details or even better, grab your tickets now before they sell out!  These Artists have been hand picked by our Spectrum Elite team and presented to the Ampthill Rocks Committee.  In turn the Committee have then hand picked from our presentation and invited our Elite Team to perform at the Festival.  As you can imagine, our motto of "Talent is Talent"  and #keepingitlocal means we do what we say, we promote local Artists and are delighted to be giving them a platform on one of the biggest Festivals in our area.  What a way to start 2019!
