Quality Control Technician

Job Description

Our Client is looking for a Quality Control Technician to work in their Flitwick Plant, QC Team due to long term sickness in the team; and impending busy season due to holidays etc:


  • You will work with the warehouse and plant to ensure product (raw material & finished goods) is tested according to QC Procedures, QC methods and specifications and any issues raised with the relevant department.

  • Leading the activities for the physical identification/control and stock booking of Non-Conforming Product. To take appropriate actions in case of abnormalities.  

  • Assisting with providing data and testing resource contributing to problem solving activities ensuring effective elimination of issues, waste and risks within the plant. 

  • Testing non-conforming product returns from customer / site / production.

  • Ensuring changes are tracked within the data records to maintain good practices and avoid risk. Data recorded accurately and clearly.

  • Working with other departments to identify areas for improvement by encouraging and facilitating the changes required to be made.

  • Supporting all departments by identifying areas of waste for both product and process to ensure optimum outputs/delivery.

  • Integration of the management systems within the business to ensure growth and to provide a framework to acquire new accreditation as required by the business.

  • Engages and communicates at all levels of the business and supply chain with regard to the conformity of the product (raw materials & finished product) so as to build credibility with key parties

Qualifications/ Knowledge/Experience:

  • Require Science and Maths to GCSE grade C/level 4 or above

  • Degree level qualification in science subject (e.g. Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering) or equivalent work experience preferred

  • Experience in QC testing and laboratory,practical knowledge of Quality management systems and aptitude for understanding manufacturing processes.

  • Analytical, Attention to Detail, Logical & Highly Communicative


  • 40 hours per week, working 8 hour shifts including paid breaks

  • The role is shift based and the current shifts are 6am-1.45pm  Mon – Fri 

  • 2.15pm-10pm Mon- Thur

  • 1.15pm-8pm Fri

  • Shifts are roatated weekly

Further Information:

  • Initially you will be working a‘day shift’ for 1-2 weeks to give you a feel for the role, induction to the job and safety etc.

  • After 2 weeks you will go on rotational shift pattern alongside a colleague who will continue to support your development and safety.
